Cute Card Thursday challenge -- "stars at night"

Here's my submission for the Cute Card Thursday challenge, "stars at night". I got this stamp for $4 at the Memory Lane yard sale. Fun! I put crackle glass on the happy birthday part of the stamp. There are plenty of stickles all over the card too.

Just Christmas and Birthday challenge

Here is my first submission for the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards challenge blog. The challenge is to use the sketch to make one Christmas and one birthday card. Again, the scanner is being difficult...I had to take pictures.

Dutch Dare challenge

Here's my submission for the Dutch Dare sketch challenge this week. The scanner was being difficult so I just took a picture. The little sentiment at the bottom says "gobble".

Papertake Weekly challenge

Here's my first use of my little caroling girl stamp that I got at the yard sale this morning. She is colored with Le Plumes and I put white flocking on the furry parts of her coat. I usually stick with the sketches fairly well...this one morphed a bit. Wanna check out the rest of the submissions? Check out the Papertake blog!

Theme Thursday challenge -- "think pink"

Here is my Theme Thursday submission for the "think pink" challenge. I used a metallic dewdrop stamp pad for the images (all from CTMH). I used second generation stamping with first generation over it and slightly to the right. I was going for a shadow effect. Did it work?

Cupcake Craft challenge "turn up the heat" AND Rainbow challenge "ribbon"

This card follows two challenge guidelines. The first is the "turn up the heat" challenge at Cupcake Craft. I used liquid applique sprinkled with iridescent glitter for the snow. The stamp set I used is a new one from Close To My Heart.

The second challenge is from the Rainbow Lady blog. Her challenge is to use ribbon. Fun stuff!

12 on the 12th for October

Yard Sale at Memory Lane!

Mom and I got up before the sun this morning to drive down to Memory Lane in Quakertown (it's a big scrapbooking and stamping store). They had a yard sale today where you could bring your stuff in and mark it with your number and a price. Then you get store credit for everything that sells. I didn't feel like editing the pictures before I posted them...I'm a bum.

Check out all my treasures! I spent a whopping $22 for everything. Woo hoo!

Scrap Everything challenge -- "sketch for birthday and Christmas"

I totally love the challenge at Scrap Everything this week. Karin posted a really nice sketch and challenged everyone to create a birthday card AND a Christmas card with it.

New pets!

Did I need new pets? Yeah...I totally did. When I saw these little guys at Petco I just fell in love with them! Their markings are totally neato. I had pretty much everything I needed so I really just needed geckos and sand to have a whole new tank setup. I haven't figured out names for them yet.

This guy is a bit skittish. I loved the yellow stripes alternating with little freckly stripes. I think he needs some kind of scottish name since he has freckles.

I love the orange markings on this guy. Totally neat. He's the more chill of the two...

Spoon Full of sugar challenge -- "pink and green"

Here's my semi-submission for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge of the week. You're probably saying to yourself "hey, that's not a card!" This is a great observation...I really just colored a stamped House Mouse image. That's as far as I got but I thought I would post it now because the cramps in my left hand say that I deserve to show it off. Making the water look like it's nighttime really kicked the heck outta my hand!

Wednesday Stamper "brown combo"

Here's my submission for two challenges: Wednesday Stamper "brown combo" and SBS18 challenge "autumn". This is a 6x6" card that opens on the left-hand side (the right side is glued down...hard to tell in the picture). I made my own background design with an old stamp set I actually never really liked until this card! I used gold embossing on some of the acorns to make them pop out a bit. The pumpkin on the autumn stamp has liquid glass.

Papertake Weekly AND Lots to Do challenge -- "no stamps"

The challenges at Papertake Weekly and Lots to Do this week are to make something with "no stamps". I totally love Halloween so I went with that theme. I drew the pumpkin, fence and grass. They are all colored with La Plume markers. The background was just a random idea. I took a black sheet of cardstock (from Close to my Heart...LOVE their paper). I used a sponge roller with embossing ink and then sprinkled silver embossing powder and a bit of iridescent glitter and heated it up. There's the result!

Halloween kitties!

My sister got a Halloween costume for the kitties to wear. I mean, after all, what good is having cats if you can't dress them up like spiders!

Arty Girlz challenge -- "red"

Here's my submission for the challenge at Arty Girlz this week. I didn't feel like scanning the cards today so I just took pictures. It's tough to tell from the picture but the cupcake frosting is all done in liquid applique that is sprinkled with iridescent glitter. The cherry is covered in liquid glass.

Created by Hand challenge -- "coffins"

Oh darn! I'm late for the Created By Hand challenge! The challenge this week was to create a card that is coffin-shaped. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I made a pop-up card. When you open it the little mummy pops up and it says Happy Halloween.

Cute Card Thursday challenge -- "Christmas animals"

When I saw the Cute Card Thursday challenge I knew I had the perfect stamp! It's House Mouse and totally adorable. I colored the stamp with Le Plume markers and then put some liquid glass over the lights. Fun stuff!
